We have orthodox Christian beliefs - the same ones that Jesus' first disciples had: beliefs and faith that have shaped and transformed world civilizations over and over for 2000 years.
We think of ourselves as 'trans-denominational': bringing denominations together, and 'post-denominational': heralding the era when Christian denominations no longer matter.
Our little congregation in Bandra, Mumbai has at different times had members or attendees who have been Catholic, Brethren, Lutheran, Episcopalian, Mennonite, Presbyterian, Nazarene, Pentecostal, Charismatic, Methodist, Anglican, Baptist, and what not, from six continents - all worshipping the same Jesus with us in the same Spirit.
If you're a theology buff, you might want to read the rest of this page. We subscribe to orthodox (small 'o') Christian theology. We affirm the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed and the Westminster Confession of Faith. Avatar started in 2009; we're part of the New Life Fellowship family of churches in Mumbai and Redeemer City to City. The New City Catechism put together by Tim Keller and Don Carson for The Gospel Coalition captures in detail what we believe. In addition, we believe the following about the Holy Spirit: "We believe in the present and interactive ministry of the Holy Spirit and in all the biblical gifts which He continues to give today."
