Jesus is the 'Avatar'.
The Sanskrit word 'Avatar' actually tells the story of Jesus remarkably.
'Avatar' is a Sanskrit word that means 'Incarnation'. But it's an incarnation of a very specific kind: when God himself descends from Heaven to Earth and takes on human-form to achieve a divinely-destined purpose at a divinely destined moment in human history.
Jesus left heaven and descended to Earth entering into the brokenness of our world and filling it with hope, love and restoration for us, through his divinely-destined death and resurrection. Our church is called 'Avatar' because Jesus is The Avatar, and in case you were wondering, we were called Avatar before James Cameron's movie came out!
